Basée à Paris et à Genève, la FIA réunit 243 organisations nationales du sport automobile et automobile de 147 pays sur cinq continents, représentant des millions d’automobilistes, d’usagers de la mobilité et de professionnels du sport automobile. L’une des principales responsabilités de la FIA est le développement du sport automobile dans le monde entier.
