Where Art meets Science: Pollution Pods exhibit
In the run-up of the first WHO Global Conference on Air Pollution and Health: Improving Air Quality, Combatting Climate Change – Saving Lives, the exhibit Where Art meets Science: Pollution Pods exhibit will be at Place des Nations, from 29 October – 2 November 2018.
Air pollution levels remain dangerously high in many parts of the world. Latest data from the World Health Organization (WHO) shows that 9 out of 10 people breathe air containing high levels of pollutants. Updated estimations reveal an alarming death toll of 7 million people every year caused by ambient (outdoor) and household air pollution.
The exhibit invites the public to experience what it means to live in a city where air pollution is a huge problem, every day. Walk through 5 domes that each provides a simulated (and safe) experience of the air that citizens breathe in five different global cities. You will learn about air pollution and its impact on health.
