United People Global - UPG

United People Global (UPG) is a community that encourages and enables people to participate in making the world a better place. This is achieved through a diverse portfolio of activities and especially by contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). UPG works to raise awareness, strengthen belief, facilitate collaboration and foster community. Its current flagship initiatives include:

• UPG Sustainability Leadership is a movement that mobilises individuals and organisations to support positive citizen leadership on sustainability. Its activities include the world’s largest training on sustainability leadership for young adults. UPG Sustainability Leadership trains and certifies 500+ young people from 100+ countries annually to become ambassadors for sustainability and to take action on the SDGs. These young Leaders create impact locally and globally through their projects on the ground and their training of citizens in communities across the world about sustainability. The programme is fully funded and free for all participants. Selected Leaders get an opportunity for an additional one-week in-person training in the USA.
• UPG Biashara is an initiative that supports entrepreneurs in their journey to turn ideas into businesses. This includes growing and strengthening existing enterprises. The training and certification phase (“Learning Journey”) of 350+ entrepreneurs annually is followed by an ongoing support phase (“Action Journey”), including cash grants from USD 5,000. Support also includes mentorship, networking, pitching exercices and more. The programme is free for all selected participants.
