The 71st session of the Committee on the Rights of the Child will be held in Geneva from 12 to 29 January 2016. The Committee, composed of 18 independent international experts, monitors how States Parties to the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Optional Protocols are complying with their obligations.

On 20 November 2014, UNICEF launched the #IMAGINE project as part of celebrations for the 25th anniversary of the 1989 Convention on the Rights of the Child, at the United Nations General Assembly. The project brought together global stars and invited people across the world to record their version of John Lennon’s legendary song Imagine.
