"Is finance transitioning quickly enough to meet climate imperatives? This question is part of the high-level Summit and over 65 community-led events of the Building Bridges 2022 edition. Participants from the finance sector, NGOs, academia, governments, and international organizations will gather from 3 to 6 October to accelerate the transition to a sustainable financial system. On 3 February 2022, PHAP and the ICVA invite you to the 3rd session of The Climate Charter – A Practical Guide webinar series, which will focus this time on "Practical tools and initiatives for reducing environmental impact in humanitarian action." You may register here. From 22 to 26 November, the Group on Earth Observations (GEO) organizes the GEOWeek2021. This event convenes scientists, researchers, UN representatives, policymakers, and academics to discuss how earth observation, notably through the lens of nexus thinking, addresses climate change, biodiversity, the ocean, and ecosystem restoration. Most of the GEOWeek2021 will run on the following Airmeet event platform. Initiated by the Geneva Science and Diplomacy Anticipator (GESDA), the inaugural Science Diplomacy Week starts today, 16 May, until 20 May 2022. This cutting-edge forum will notably address Climate change, Peacebuilding and artificial intelligence, Humanitarian action, Global Health, CyberPeace, Ethics of crisis communication, and Big Data through the lens of science diplomacy. From 31 March to 1 April 2022, the Swiss Confederation invites you to be part of the first International Cooperation Forum on climate change. Governments, scientists, academics, international organizations, businesses, experts from food systems, energy, health, natural resources management, and finance will gather to find concrete solutions to combat climate change and its impacts on sustainable development.

No other city has a richer history of international cooperation than Geneva.
In 1863, a small group of Genevois created the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) which led to the first international humanitarian treaty, the Geneva Convention of 1864.
In 1919, the city gained strength and momentum as a platform for dialogue and cooperation when the victorious states of World War I decided to establish the League of Nations and the International Labour Organization (ILO) there.
