What's going on this summer at the UN Information Service in Geneva?
Summer is always particularly busy for the Information Service as we host lots of students, especially those who participate in our Graduate Study Programme in July, as well as the many tourists who take guided tours around the Palais des Nations.
In addition, this year we are preparing for the Open Day on September 15th, when we expect to welcome thousands of local families.

What is going on this summer at the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue?
Our mediation and dialogue work continues around the calendar. We have key processes on the Middle East, Sudan and elsewhere rolling through the summer. However, thanks to the beautiful Villa Plantamour, which houses the HD Centre and is located by the Lac Léman in the Park Mon Repos, we will still very much enjoy the summer!

What are you working on this summer?
We are conducting our annual Executive Course on Global Health Diplomacy in the first week of July with participants from all around the world. Then there are a few publications and studies to complete – for example on the EU as a global health actor - and a bibliography on Global Health Diplomacy. Finally we will be teaching in Beijing China on occasion of the big celebrations of China Africa Cooperation.

After a career in bilateral diplomacy and frontline missions as well as multilateral diplomacy in Brussels, Ambassador Julian Braithwaite, freshly appointed Head of the UK Mission to the UN and other international organisations, is now settling in Geneva. He can count on an extensive experience and will lead a team of 50. What's going on at CERAH this summer?
As we undertook quite an ambitious reform of the whole training offer at CERAH, we will dedicate the summer months mainly to finalise the teaching programme of the Diploma in Humanitarian Action starting in September. We will also continue to prepare the six Certificates in Humanitarian Action we are going to propose in the spring semester 2013.
