On 30 and 31 August 2021, The Global Governance Centre at the Graduate Institute Geneva and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) invite you to be part of an ambitious multi-sectorial online conference on the "Global Governance of Plastic Pollution: Transforming the Global Plastics Economy." June 2022 marks the 50th session of the Human Rights Council. Fifty years ago, on June 19, 2006, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Mr. Kofi Annan opened the first session of the Human Rights Council at the Palais des Nations and said : "Human rights are from the third of the three pillars, with economic and social development and peace and security, on which all the work of the United Nations must be based."

On 11 May 2021, to mark the 150th anniversary of the Central Tracing Agency (CTA), the ICRC and the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) organize the high-level online discussion "Transforming the global response for missing persons" with the participation of Ignazio Cassis, Federal Councilor, and head of the FDFA and Peter Maurer, President of the ICRC. This moving scene of a reunited family took place in July 2016 in the Makamba province, Burundi.
