The State Council of Geneva has launched the second part of its public consultation “Genève 2050”. A public survey now allows all members of the public to express their opinions about the future of the Canton.
After conducting 15 workshops bringing together over 700 participants in March and April, the State Council has announced the second part of the consultation which covers the main themes and issues relating to the public policies of the State of Geneva as well as the challenges of the next decades.

What fragrance is associated in your mind with summer holidays?
The smell of the oceans – hard to describe since water has no odour. But for me there is a distinct and soothing aroma. It must be the mixture of seaweed and sea life carried into the beach by the waves that have skimmed off bits and pieces and churned them into a fresh fragrance.

What are you working on this summer?
I am mostly focusing on three issues. First, on the very direct responsibility that I have in a few essential areas. I'm thinking in particular about Syria - where we may still be able, if possible, to broaden our response - but also in Afghanistan, for instance.
