Switzerland - Permanent Mission (UN, WTO, EFTA)
Switzerland is represented in Geneva by two permanent missions: the Mission to the United Nations Office and to the other international organizations and the Mission to the World Trade Organisation and the European Free Trade Association.
The Permanent Mission of Switzerland to the UN and to the other international organizations manages the status of international organizations and representations and of their employees, including domestic staff and families. It also performs all tasks specific to multilateral diplomacy, in the same way as other UN member states, and thus represents Switzerland's interests. The Mission is particularly active in the areas of disarmament, humanitarian issues, human rights and specialist organizations.
The Permanent Mission of Switzerland to the World Trade Organisation (WTO) and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) monitors the work of international organizations with an economic remit, such as the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and the International Trade Centre (ITC) in Geneva.
